1880s Mustard + Brown Striped Silk Corset Bodice- XS

Magical, 1880s mustard + brown striped silk evening bodice. Puffy ruffled shoulders and an elegant open neckline. Fully boned with a cropped fit. Two strong hook and eye closures on the top and bottom, with eyelets up the front to lace like a corset. Can be worn fully closed, or with up to a 2” gap with the lacing. Also looks cute laced up halfway on the top half with the waist portion worn more open  

Condition. Overall in good condition for age. Has general wear. Most notable are some holes on the surface fabric of one of the shoulders. There is structural fabric beneath, so as long as worn and stored with care, should be alright. There is also a small break near one of the lace up eyelets, so should be worn with the tension not too strong. 

Feels like a piece that would definitely have been in Vivienne Westwood’s archive. Has been kept in a trunk in a French chateau for almost the last hundred years.

Both bust and waist could be worn more open depending on how loose the ribbon is tied.
