1930s Large Pink Floral Still Life of Zinnias in Gilt Frame- 23x25”
Gorgeous, large floral still life of pink, orange, yellow and white zinnias! Likely the best flower to ever be painted due to the way their colors and texture are translated onto a canvas, in my opinion. This piece is oil on stretched canvas, signed J. Buckley. In a gorgeous gilded wooden frame. Still has the original Missouri Auction School tag attached. Apparently they are the oldest auction school house in the world! This piece is oil on stretched canvas, signed J. Buckley. Signature matches that attributed to a John Michael Buckley (American, 1891-1958). He seems to have two signatures, I suppose one may choose to change over time. The one we have on this painting I saw on two recorded pieces that sold at auction, one for $800.
Overall in beautiful vintage, almost antique, condition. Has some cracking to the paint on the left hand side but is not actively cracking/falling off. Really so stunning and even better in person!
